HEADMASTER’S CIRCULAR AUGUST 2017

Dear Brebnerians

I trust that this circular finds you all in good health and happiness.

Herewith the following:

Our bi-annual Revue will be taking place in September (See attached circular). Please support us in this fun but important event. Tickets are on sale at the Sand du Plessis Theatre (Pacofs) at R150 per person. Kindly join us and your children for this major event.

Term 3 has been a very busy term with various sporting, cultural and academic activities taking place. Our soccer and hockey teams have been especially busy participating in tournaments and have achieved good results all round. The winter sporting codes are drawing to a close and extra mural activities for the term will cease on 15 September 2017.

Also please note that day boarding for the term will cease on 28 September 2017.

Assessment is an ongoing process at the school and various grades are being assessed continuously. The Grade 7’s will be having formal assessment during the last few days of term. A time table and scopes of work will be sent out and posted on the school website not later than 5 September.

I urge parents to remain actively involved in their children’s academic progress and to assist us in ensuring that regular study and homework takes place. At Brebner Primary School the phrase “I do not have homework“, does not exist. If there is no written homework, then reading and studying should be taking place at home.

I also wish to request your assistance in ensuring that our learners attend school in proper and neat uniform. We take great pride in the Brebner Primary School culture of always being presentable and we wish to foster a sense of pride in our school community.

As you may have heard from your children, Brebner Primary School hasinstalled new electronic technology in all our classes. The learners and the educators seem to be enjoying this new angle to education and I trust that it will be to the benefit of all.

My thanks and appreciation to the Department of Education , the School Governing Body, the Parent

Teacher Association (PTA) and indeed all our parents for your interest and involvement in our school. It is highly valued.

Please remember your commitment to school fees. Without your support Brebner Primay School could not possibly attain new heights.

Please note that the Athletics Day will be taking place on 13 October 2017 and the Big Walk on 21 October 2017.

Kind regards
